Dr. Mia Layne is a board certified Obstetrician Gynecologist who was born and raised on the southside of Chicago, Illinois. She is a proud alumna of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. Her OB/GYN residency training was completed at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. She practices obstetrics and gynecology in the Chicagoland area and has performed hundreds of successful births and gynecological surgeries such as hysterectomies and ovarian cyst removals.

Dr. Layne has always been intrigued by medicine and science and truly enjoys every aspect of the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Obstetrics and Gynecology is a subspecialty that allows physicians to practice preventative medicine in an office setting, work as a surgeon with the potential to have a significant impact on women’s lives based on the surgical treatment, and offer comprehensive continuity of care to women during all stages of their lives.

When Dr. Layne is not providing quality care to women, she is often found participating in various community organizations and volunteering with her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She truly enjoys experiencing new cultures, meeting new people, and traveling abroad. During her spare time, she treasures spending quality time with family and close friends.
